Linsley Chittenden Building

Selective demolition and asbestos removal were done in the central historic building on the Yale University campus. Throughout the 5 stories, 25,000 sq. ft. area, over 500 tons of asbestos was removed from ceilings, flooring, plaster walls, and pipe insulation. Great care had to be taken to protect the original stained glass windows, which have an estimated value of eight million dollars. We were able to keep a majority of the historic doors, frames, trims, moldings, and wainscoting.

Additional work included cutting penetrations in floor slabs and through footings and walls into the adjacent building. The entire project was completed in nine weeks, with two shifts per day.
